Music Industry SUPPORT
A range of tailored free support for those working in music.
Working in music can be rewarding, exciting and creative, but it can also be demanding, unpredictable and isolating. Long hours, touring, financial uncertainty, performance pressure and inconsistent routines can all have a serious impact on mental health and wellbeing.
Tonic Music provides therapy sessions, peer groups, skills workshops and training courses tailored for people working in music.
Whether you’re a musician, producer, crew member, manager, agent, promoter, venue operator or festival organiser, this programme is built to support the realities of working in music. Our programme is designed to be facilitated online, which means it can be accessed wherever you are.
What We Offer
Group Therapy
Funded by the Royal Society of Musicians, Group Therapy is a new and effective way of managing mental health. Our group therapy offers a supportive space for 12 participants to connect with those who may share similar experiences, reduce feelings of isolation, and explore challenges together in a safe and professionally facilitated environment. All sessions are led by qualified psychotherapists with significant experience working in music, who will guide the group through the journey of therapy.
Since launching in 2025, our Group Therapy has received an overwhelmingly positive response, with participants describing the sessions as 'Getting the opportunity to share, reflect and question everything under guided assistance has been an invaluable experience.' and 'Safe space. Excellent group.'

1-to-1 Therapy
Confidential support sessions and counselling delivered by qualified professionals with experience in both mental health services and the music industry.
We offer a number of pathways that can provide up to 12 fully-funded sessions of 1-to-1 therapy. Each funder has different work and income criteria, so please do get in touch to find out which options may be available to you.
Due to high demand, there is currently a waiting list for 1-to-1 therapy. Whilst on the waiting list, we encourage people to access some of our peer groups and skills workshops.
Peer Groups
Safe, professionally facilitated spaces where people working in music can connect, share experiences and support one another. Groups are available throughout the year and include both open groups and themed groups. Some examples of themed groups that have previously included: Women, Neurodivergence, Music Performance Anxiety, Agents x Managers, and Futures (18 to 25).

Skills Workshops
Educational workshops designed to support wellbeing, resilience and emotional awareness for people working in music. Great for those who want to improve their awareness of supporting their own mental health and look out for others. All workshops are a maximum of 2 hours, which makes them great for those who don’t have lots of free time. We are always expanding the amount and types of workshops we offer.
Some of the workshops we have previously run include:
• Emotional Resilience
• Music Performance Anxiety
• Substance Use Awareness
• Navigating Identity
• Managing Neurodivergence
Training Courses
Accredited training courses contextualised for people working in music.
• Mental Health First Aid
• Suicide First Aid Lite
Our accredited training courses are available for both individuals and organisations. Depending on funding, we can sometimes offer individuals who work in music free access to Mental Health First Aid and Suicide First Aid Lite courses. Where this funding is not available, we offer individuals and organisations competitive prices.
