Tonic ends its involvement in the Ska Choir.

In a post-pandemic world with a cost of living crisis the financial cost of operating the choir has become impossible to meet.

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the end of Tonic's involvement in the Ska Choir.

For some time it has been increasingly challenging to obtain the necessary funding to continue.

Despite people's valued & much appreciated efforts to fund raise and donate, this can never replace formal funding - both in terms of the sums required, and as a long-term financial strategy.

In a post-pandemic world with a cost of living crisis the financial cost of operating the choir has become impossible to meet.

We would like to acknowledge and thank all members of the choir, both past and present, who's passion, energy and commitment created this uniquely wonderful choir; all Tonic staff who have contributed their skills and expertise; and every single person that has supported the choir through fundraising, donations or attending performances.

The Tonic Ska Choir will fulfil all existing commitments regarding public performances.

The Mucky Weekender festival performance in September will be the final Tonic Ska Choir activity.

Although Tonic's involvement in the choir will end, we are overjoyed that our choir facilitators James and Emz are able to take over the choir from us.

This inevitably means significant change in many ways but a Ska Choir will continue to exist. We will support them in every way possible during this transition.

Our hope is that members continue in James and Emz's new independent choir with the same communal spirit, enthusiasm, loyalty and dedication.

We hope members embrace this opportunity to create something new and equally as wonderful as they have all made the Tonic Ska Choir.

Much Love,
