BIMM Manchester Freshers Fair

Tonic Music joined the new students at this year's Freshers Fair at BIMM Manchester.

Budding music industry professionals of today are presented with fresh challenges that are symptomatic of a generation with the unique and juxtapositional issue of choice - am I going down the right path? Should I take the stage as a musician, or am I best suited to unravelling the logistical web that is music production?

At Tonic Music, we are here to support you along your journey, whether that be as an aspiring creative, industry professional or music fan, with the potential difficulties that present themselves indicative of someone who absorbs themselves within music- through whichever lens.

It is imperative to Tonic Music that we continue to have a physical presence within the music industry and form supportive networks, in particular with budding professionals of today, which is why we were thrilled to have our own stall at BIMM Manchester's freshers fair this year.

It was an insightful and notable pleasure to engage with students at different stages of their journey, whether it was first years experiencing their first time living away from home, or third years nervous at the steps ahead after Uni life. The majority of students stopped by to chat, share stories and keenly engaged with me sharing awareness of the support that Tonic Music can offer.

A lot of students touched upon how stressful starting university can be, being away from home for the first time, new routines, new faces, and all that pressure that comes with, 'getting it right' from day one. It was inspiring to see how interested the students were in utilising their engagement with music as a tool to help navigate that stress.

It’s clear that mental health is a topic close to a lot of hearts, and I'm so grateful for the openness and willingness to engage that the students brought to the stall, many of which were interested in the programmes that Tonic Music have to offer.
