Terry Hall's Piano at Tim Burgess' Merch Market at Troxy’s ‘Foyer of Love’

Tonic Music are excited to be attending Tim Burgess' Merch Market in London... and we will be bringing Terry’s Hall’s piano!

New Peer Support Group with Attitude is Everything

Join us on Sunday 11th January from 11am until late as Tonic Music hosts the ‘Foyer of Love’ at Troxy. Expect special guest appearances stepping up to the mic throughout the event accompanied by our piano man in residence, Deano Mumford (The Rifles).

“We are so excited to be back at Tim’s Merch Market. Last year we were in The Tunnel of Love.  This year you can find us in the Foyer of Love at Troxy.  We’ve got a brilliant line up of guests and Deano Mumford (The Rifles) will be our piano man in residence playing our founding patron, the late great Terry Hall’s piano.

We will be transforming the Foyer of Love into a chilled out Tonic Lounge vibe with sofas, Tonic Merch and rare signed items.  Every sale will help us to support music communities access therapy, peer support groups, training and psychoeducation support.”

STEPH LANGAN Founder & CEO, Tonic Music

Terry was a firm believer in the power of music to help aid mental health recovery stating “Music can pave the path to light even in the darkest of places” which is used on the plaque on the piano (as shown below).

The free to attend Merch Market, established by Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), will enable 100s of music artists to sell their merch without commission - ensuring they take home all of the profit. This builds upon Tim’s campaign to stop music venues taking a commission from artist merch sales, many of whom are larger venues.

Four venues will be participating in the Merch Market - Troxy, The Old Ship, The Clement Attlee and The George Tavern - featuring a stacked programme of stalls, live performances and DJ sets, plus on-stage interviews and panels.

“The Tonic Music folks will be at The Merch Market with Terry Hall’s piano - find them in the 'Foyer Of Love' at Troxy and you never know who might be next up for a song.

Some brilliant guests lined up - with Deano Mumford as our piano man in residence.”

TIM BURGESS

Tonic Music recognises the economic difficulties encountered across different music industries, particularly in live music - artists, venues, promoters and of course, music fans - however, we believe venues taking a commission from artists selling merch is not indicative of a mutually supportive music sector. Music fans can support their favourite artists by purchasing and wearing merch.
