Tonic Music are providing an ‘Emotional Resilience / ACT Skills’ preventative workshop in collaboration with Attitude is Everything.
As part of the ‘Beyond the Stage’ series, Tonic Music are hosting a 2-hour workshop with Attitude is Everything focusing on Emotional Resilience and ACT Skills - facilitated by Jeordie Shenton (Programmes Lead).
The workshop will teach participants skills to manage negative thoughts and emotions, including helpful perspectives on how we perceive and respond to our internal world, practical ways of building emotional awareness, and employing the key principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Throughout the workshop, contexts and case studies will be music-specific, to equip participants with skills which can be used when engaging professionally and recreationally in music.
The workshop will be on Wednesday 19th June (4:30pm-6:30pm), with a break included.
Topics covered will include:
Practical ways to build and develop resilience, including techniques around emotional awareness.
Defining what resilience is.
Looking at what helps us to build resilience.
Techniques and skills that can help reduce vulnerability to overwhelming emotions.
How to manage unhelpful and unwanted thoughts.
Thought fusion and diffusion.
Values and committed action.
