MVT’s Venues Day 2026

We are once again thrilled to be attending MVT’s Venues Day this year at Shoreditch Town Hall on Tuesday 17th March.

To quote Coldplay’s guitarist Jonny Buckland...

“They [grass root venues] are a vibrant part of our culture. And we, as a band, would not have anything without them. I do not know how anyone would have heard us.”

...which is more poignant than ever considering the alarming amount of venues that made no profit last year.

Tonic Music will once again be returning to Venues Day, an annual event curated by the Music Venue Trust (MVT).

The Music Venue Trust is a registered charity that aims to protect, secure, and improve Grassroots Music Venues (GMV) in order to keep them alive.

This is a major event to be marked in the calendar for many music industry professionals– a one day event packed with panels, workshops, and plenty of networking opportunities for all that attend.

For GMV managers it is vital to attend Venues Day, as it allows them to come together to support one another during this difficult time in the music industry, as well as recognising how far GMV’s have come in the UK.

It will be our third consecutive year back at the sold out event, where we will be once again hosting an exhibition stand. We will be providing information and resources on our mental health support programmes dedicated for people who work across the music industry, as well as having the odd pin badge for you to pick up.

We are thrilled to be bringing mental health into the conversation at such a key event in the music industry, and we look forward to meeting venue operators throughout the day.

As reported by MVT, last year more than half (53%) of UK GMVs made no profit at all, as well as 30 GMVs permanently shutting their doors.

MVT warns that the collapse of access to touring is starving emerging bands and artists of significant opportunities.

So, it is now more than ever that we support GMVs in order for new talent to have opportunities to develop, as well as keeping the doors open for music lovers to enjoy live music on their doorstep.

Everyone who attends Venues Day will learn about the findings of MVT’s annual report, as well as understanding what we can all do for GMVs to thrive.

Don't forget to check out all our Courses, Groups and Workshops currently open for registration for working musicians and those working within the music.
