We are delighted to announce a new series of Group Therapy for music professionals in partnership with The Royal Society of Musicians.

Following the success of the previous three series of FREE Group Therapy for music professionals, The Royal Society of Musicians and Tonic Music are pleased to announce a further group, beginning on 1 October. The sessions will be facilitated online by Jade Hughes and Sarah Williams.
It is no secret that a career in music can be tough. The mental health challenges faced by music professionals are many and varied. That is why we have teamed up once again with the Royal Society of Musicians, who have the following mission:
To provide vital financial support, advice and guidance to those within the music sector who are unable to work owing to physical or mental ill health and to nurture an organisation that can achieve this.
“These group therapy sessions will provide music professionals with a unique experience to share their experiences and feelings with others in a safe and supportive environment. This process will also help individuals gain greater insight into themselves and to become aware of how their feelings and behaviours may be impacting their professional and personal relationships.
Acting as a microcosm of the outside world, the group will encourage participants to reflect on these feelings and patterns of behaviour, so they may gain understanding and have the opportunity to create positive changes. By participating in group therapy individuals can benefit from developing emotional connections with their fellow group members as well as therapeutic support from the facilitators.”
Dr Adam Ficek / Jade Hughes.
Each group takes place across 12 weeks, with each session running for 90 minutes. The group is open for music professionals, including performers, composters, crew, teacher, administrator or anything in between.
