Announcing the launch of our Tonic Rider Digital Box for artists, crew and staff working at live music events across the UK.
Tonic has a rich history of working at some of the biggest festivals, gigs and tours, providing our Never Mind the Stigma stand at Boomtown Fair, Victorious Festival and Mucky Weekender, plus on tour with The Specials, The Libertines and Dub Pistols. As part of this work, we have offered advice and support to attendees, but also been on-hand to support artists, crew and staff, when needed. This led to the launch of our Tonic Rider Backstage Support at the start of the year, offering bespoke advice and support at the beating heart of the event - the green room.
We first provided the Tonic Rider Backstage Support at Takedown Festival (Portsmouth) in May, which was also an opportunity to pilot our Tonic Rider Boxes. These boxes include a booklet with information about Tonic Rider, along with a selection of our bespoke mental health zines for the music industry. The Tonic Rider Boxes were placed in the dressing rooms, on the catering tables and available to anyone working backstage.
In June, we provided the Tonic Rider Backstage Support at Nibley Festival (Gloucestershire), which again involved us placing our Tonic Rider Boxes in different areas. It was also an opportunity for us to pilot our new Digital Tonic Rider Box. Accessible via a QR code on posters dotted across the site, the link opens an exclusive web page featuring a selection of bespoke mental health guides and techniques, in addition to contact information for emergency or urgent support.
Throughout the year, we will be adding extra guides and techniques to the Tonic Rider Digital Box, as the Tonic Rider Backstage Support is provided at more festivals, gigs and tours. As a next step for the Tonic Rider Digital Box, the Tonic team are working hard to develop an app, with the aim of improving access and functionality for all artists, crew and staff working at live music events.
