It's back! After the success of the inaugural Album Clubs in 2025, Tonic Music is proud to launch an expanded series for 2026/27.

The Tonic Music Album Club is an online group open to all music fans, to listen, reflect and share their thoughts on selected albums each week - think of it like a book club, but for albums! It is a great way to connect with fellow music fans from across the UK and talk about some of your favourite albums.
Each Album Club session takes place online every Monday between 7:00pm - 8:30pm, commencing on 6th July. Sessions will be facilitated by Tonic Music's Dave Clark, who’s journey into music started in the late ‘70s as a fan of punk rock before going on to play drums in an ‘80s punk band. In the ‘90s he became a DJ, first at an Indie club and then started his own club playing soul & funk and other associated genres. Today he is still behind the drum kit with punk band Acid Attack and on the record decks as half of DJ duo Hipshaker.
Over the next year, there will be eight Album Clubs. Each with a different genre that will be discussed over a six week period, highlighting one album each week.
The Album Club has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Richer Sounds Foundation and The National Lottery.

What's First?
The first genre up for discussion is Classic Punk & New Wave, where Never Mind The Bollocks by Sex Pistols, Parallel Lines by Blondie, and All Mod Cons by The Jam will be the first albums to be explored.
Following this will be Reggae, Ska & 2-Tone, where The Harder They Come soundtrack, Catch A Fire by Bob Marley and The Wailers, and The Specials self titled album will be discussed. Other genres such as Baggy & Britpop, Rock & Metal, as well as Soul & Funk are soon to be dissected in future sessions.
“During the previous Album Club sessions, I really enjoyed the chance to chat about the albums and music with other music loving people. It became the highlight of my day and I am sure for others too.”

Why do we provide Album Clubs?
Music enriches our lives and can be profoundly beneficial to our mental health, yet, opportunities for music communities to come together are decreasing with the closure of independent music venues, festivals and record stores, proliferation of streaming platforms, global restrictions on touring, and now the emergence of AI.
These issues are not only economic, but have a deep emotional effect on all music fans, from gig-goers to record collectors. The essential link music has to emotions, identity and culture has led to the formation of subcultures, including mods, punks and emos, each being an important part of the wider music community.
The Tonic Music Album Club, therefore, has been created to provide a new community space for music fans to come together.
“I am very much looking forward to hosting the sessions, particularly as we start off with classic punk and new wave albums… a genre I hold very close to my heart.” Dave Clark.
