We are providing a Peer Support Group exclusively for Musicians' Union members who are parents and/or carers, in partnership with Music Music Minds Matter, Parents & Carers In Performing Arts (PIPA) and the Musicians' Union (MU).
Starting Friday 1st November 2024, Tonic Music in partnership with Music Music Minds Matter, PIPA and the MU are providing a six-week online Peer Support Group exclusively for parents and/or carers who are members of the Musicians' Union.
The group will be facilitated by Jade Hughes, who is a trainee psychotherapist with several years experience working in the music industry as a classically trained singer.
"Mental health support is crucial for parents and carers in the performing arts who often face unique pressures, including irregular schedules, financial instability, and managing the demands of the industry. Add children or care responsibilities into the mix and the pressure can be overwhelming. All this leads to increased stress and burnout and impacts well-being.
We’re delighted to be partnering with Tonic Music, Music Minds Matter and the Musicians’ Union to bring this offer to parents and carers for the first time to bring this much-needed mental health support to our community."
