Rewind (North) to the 80's

Tonic Music got out their neon hats, sequin jackets, rainbow socks and took a step back into the 80's over the weekend at Rewind North.

Rewind North showcases bands and solo artists that rose to success in the 80’s and brings 20,000 music lovers together each year! Situated within Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire East, the festival is truly beautiful; surround by woodland and gorgeous countryside. Rewind North is the second of a series of Rewind Festivals, with the first being held in Scotland and traveling down the UK before finishing over seas in Dubai!

On Thursday the doors opened to traders and staff, as the final touches were added to the festival. The three stages had their last checks and the big tents went up in anticipation of Friday nights Silent Disco. Tonic Music spent the day setting up their stall and preparing for the days ahead. The weather was great and set the tone for the weekend.

Fast forward to 6pm on Friday, the air horn sounded the opening of the gates as the punters came in ready for their first day of 80’s goodness. The theme for the Friday night was ‘yellow’, the festival goers really went to town on their outfits, from inflatable duck suits to neon attires. For those who missed the memo, Tonic Music saved the day with yellow Hawaiian shirts, hats and vintage clothes. Friday at Rewind North is very much a pre-party for the weekend ahead. The infamous ‘Pink Flamingo’ stage is where the party is at on a Friday night at Rewind, filled with small artists, DJ’s and cover acts; it’s the perfect start to the festival. The festival goers partied into the night, before retreating to their tents ahead of main event.

Saturday, 12pm, the gates opened again. The crowd flooded in, running for the main stage to secure the best spots for headliner Billy Ocean (and his special guests!). The main stage is situated at the bottom of a small hill, meaning there’s no bad views for the crowd as the stage is viewable from all points. Saturdays lineup featured stars such as; Gabrielle, Bad Manners, Tiffany, Altered Images, Nik Kershaw and more. Tonic Music settled in for a busy day trading and spreading the word of their work. With a constant flow of happy festival goers through the festival, Tonic Music were able to work their magic and spread the work of the charity; as well as, add extra sparkle to some outfits!
