At Tonic Music, we offer a range of exciting opportunities to volunteer at various festivals across the UK. Whether you come from a mental health background or simply love connecting with people, your time and skills can make a real difference in supporting those who may need it most.
Tonic Music attends some of the UK’s biggest music festivals, including Isle of Wight Festival, Victorious Festival, and Shiiine On - and we’re always expanding. If there aren’t any events that suit you at the time of registration, you’re still encouraged to apply. We regularly update our event list and can notify you when new opportunities become available.

Volunteer Roles
Fundraising / Selling Merch Fundraising is a huge part of Tonic Music attending festivals. Not only does it mean we can continue to offer free mental health support for Music Professionals and Music Fans, but it also gives us the opportunity to shout about the fact that support exists (in probably the most appropriate place!)
We sell lots of festival-style clothing and other essentials a festival-goer might need. We have great fun chatting with people and getting them dressed up as wildly as we can! It's a great laugh, and we have a great time attending.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Selling merchandise at the Tonic Music stand
Engaging with festival-goers and spreading awareness about our work
Encouraging donations (with freebies provided as a thank you)
Creating a welcoming, fun atmosphere
Walking around the festival site promoting the charity and collecting donations
We’re looking for people who are: confident communicators, friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic and comfortable engaging with a wide range of people. No mental health experience is required for this role. However, due to the nature of our work, some people may open up about their mental health. You will not be expected to manage complex or crisis situations. Instead, we ask that you: listen with empathy, help individuals feel heard and signpost them to our on-site Mental Health Practitioners or available support.
Mental Health Practitioner At most events, we set up our Tonic Lounge - a safe, welcoming space where festival-goers can step away from the fast-paced environment. We also provide a backstage lounge for artists and crew. This role is for qualified mental health professionals. This includes: counsellors, psychotherapists, mental health nurses, social workers/care coordinators, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists.
Our aim is to make the space feel inviting and non-clinical, with a vintage music studio look, alongside zines and helpful mental health resources.
The role of a Volunteer Mental Health Practitioner involves supporting those who visit the Tonic Lounge. Some people may want a conversation, while others may simply need a quiet moment, so being able to adapt is key.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Offering emotional support in a calm, compassionate manner,
Creating a safe and welcoming environment,
Supporting a wide range of needs, from light conversation to distress,
Working alongside the wider Tonic Music team
This is a non-clinical role. Practitioners are not expected to provide formal therapy, diagnosis, or ongoing treatment. Instead, the focus is on: emotional support, grounding techniques & appropriate signposting.
Whether you’re helping raise awareness on the ground or offering meaningful support in the Tonic Lounge, every role plays a vital part in what we do. Together, we can continue to break down stigma, start important conversations, and ensure that mental health support is visible and accessible within the music community.
If you’re passionate about people, music, and making a difference, we’d love to have you on the team.
