Tonic Music visited WaterBear to provide talks on mental health in music for students at the Brighton (31st March) and Sheffield (2nd April) campuses.

As part of a new collaboration, Tonic Music visited WaterBear College of Music for the first time, to provide Tonic Talks on ‘Maintaining Good Mental Health in Music’ for students at the Brighton and Sheffield campuses, across a single week.

Led by Programmes Lead, Jeordie Shenton, the talks focused on the key stressors that negatively impact young music professionals and how these can be addressed.

Organised by the WaterBear student support teams, both talks were well-attended and students were engaged in the topics of discussion. Alongside this, both WaterBear campuses have been provided with free Tonic Music mental health resources, including zines and posters.

“We are delighted to form a new working relationship with WaterBear, who are a college dedicated to maintaining good mental health for their students. It was great to meet all of the students and provide two Tonic Talks on mental health in music - I hope our work with WaterBear continues to develop.”
