All registered participants are invited via email to attend a FREE 1-to-1 online consultation appointment with a member of staff. This appointment is a requirement for all participants prior to attending the Mental Health First Aid course. If you have already attended a consultation appointment as part of the Tonic Rider programme, you will not need to attend another. The consultation appointment is not a clinical assessment, but includes an opportunity to discuss past experiences or present concerns around mental health and wellbeing, to ensure any additional or unmet needs can be addressed. Our staff are trained to signpost and refer participants to appropriate external support, if and when required.

In some circumstances, a registered participant may be deemed ineligible to attend the Mental Health First Aid course due to identified risks or concerns. For example, if you have recently experienced a bereavement by suicide, we may suggest you attend the Mental Health First Aid course at a later date. Such decisions will be informed by the consultation appointment and finalised within a triage meeting attended by Tonic staff.

Our Supporters

Everyone has mental health, just like everyone has physical health.

Not everyone will experience mental illness, but everyone will have periods of time when they struggle with their mental wellbeing, just as we have physical health issues from time to time. This course will train you as a MHFAider®.
